I am so blessed an honored that you feel that way.

There is nothing so sacred to me than being blessed with the creative powers to move another soul through the stories I weave - be they in the written word or through images.

I am also most truly blessed to be able to call you a friend - and to know that your work moves me as well. You have a rare gift of both skill and passion that is rarely seen in this often bleak and cynical world these days ... we need so many more souls like you, but I realize they are still so rare no matter how hard you wish!
It is such an honor!!
Maybe one day you will honor me by revealing to me your birth name ... I completely understand if you don't but I could always hope! :blowkiss:

I don't think I knew that - but it's more of an honor that you've shared this with me ...

Thank you, Julia ... from somewhere in the center of my soul.

You are an amazing artist! If I could I would definitely pay you to sketch for me! I an not the greatest at drawing pencil to paper. I taught myself to draw digitally and have been doing so for years. Have not drawn by hand is quite a long time.

Anyways, GREAT JOB! Keep up the great work!

If you give me a photo of what you'd like me to draw it would be an honor. I could even send you the original when its done, seeing that you are in Canada and I am in the U.S.

What you've done for me is more payment than I could ever have imagined. (I'm trying very hard not to get emotional again!)

And your digital work is very good - keep it up!!!

Aww, thanks! I rarely ever get compliments on my digital work.
Anyways, I would LOVE to have a sketch of Brother Theodore. He is a famous german monologuist and is my idol for theater acting. Here is a pic of him. [link]

I honestly can't think of anyone better to sketch him then you! You are very talented and put a lot of emotion and effort into your artwork. Your offer to send the original drawing is very much appreciated! I would love that. I would be so honored to have a copy of your original artwork!

I think Brother Theodore would be a fascinating subject ... an absolutely excellent choice ... I will comb through some of his photos and see what I come up with ...

You are an actress??
Very interesting ...
Are you involved in a theater group in Canada?

I am stunned ... thank you so much!

Sometimes I wonder if my work belongs with all that wonderful art, but I am certainly glad you think so!!!

I certainly hope you are finding some peace these days ... losing loved ones can challenge in ways we never imagine ... and we find out things about ourselves that we never knew many times ... you try to take away all you can from something like that and ALWAYS celebrate the life of your Grandma ... I'm sure she wouldn't want you to be sad about her passing though its never easy.

I absolutely love your classic Meditteranean style of painting ... for someone who says they don't know much about painting you certainly have mastered the technique and the creative spirit!

I hope you decide to pick up the brushes again ... very soon!

Thank you again ... it is truly an honor!!!! :D

I've never followed the "formula" for drawing hair. I know in most cases it should be drawn in a interlocking series of shapes, but I actually draw it starnd by strand most times. It does take A LOT longer that way, but it provides a unique texture and dimension to the rest of the portrait. ;)

I don't have a gorgeous picture of myself. I'm not even close to gorgeous. But, you can steal one from facebook. Whenever I finish my exams and meet my Princess we will take some photoes. :)

If nothing else - I am entitled to my belief that you are beautiful in EVERY way.
The fact that you truly do not believe you are beautiful on the outside makes you EVEN MORE beautiful!

LOVE the one you just posted on Facebook - I love the whole idea of using the theme of you being a goldsmith ... it didn't dawn on me until I saw that photo.

Keep posting! And as soon as your Princess takes some photos you have to send them to me!!!

Many thanks, my friend. Yes - I tried to give her a little more regality and a slightly more serious expression than what was depicted, based on what I was doing with the accessories. A little more like royalty, if you will. I knew you would appreciate this more than anyone else! :D

Thank you, Phillipe. You and I are cut from the same cloth, more or less ... there are some amazing "replica" artists on DA, who demonstrate great skill in copying what they see, but to me - the real challenge is creating a unique interpretation of a given subject ... drawing out aspects we have not seen before ... an unexplored perspective ... this is a gift you have in spades, my friend. That's what makes your work special!

And makes your work special as well
You are right by saying that we like both to create something from what we see. There are so many artists with a lot of virtuosity that are excellent of reproducing what they see, but I can't help putting my personal touch on a piece of art :D
From time to time, what I like to reproduce "as is" are pictures of body parts or nude bodies, and it comes from the time I had some figure drawing courses.
